On the Move, Yet Again!

Well, I can't believe it's nearly the end of November. Where has this year gone to? My last post was back in August. Aren't I bad for not keeping my blog uptodate?

Anyway, I'm on the move again. Please note I said I not we. My husband has admitted he doesn't love me anymore and wants me to leave so I am. I shall spend some time over the next month with my mom and step dad then move over to stay short term with my eldest son and his family. Not ideal but better than a street corner. I have custody of my dog, Moss.

All of my possessions have been moved out and are spread btween four different houses. I just hope I have everything I need in the right place.

I shall be 53 33 in January, cough, cough. I am beginning to wonder if I'll ever be settled and have a 'normal' life anywhere. I'm getting too old for all of this milarkey. I am past my 'sell by date' now and on the slippy slope to old age. My husband has lived the life of a single man for the last six years, has phoned other women, and been on dating websites. I know I am better off out of this very toxic relationship but at this moment in time I feel very angry, hurt, sad, betrayed plus lots of other emotions.

On a plus side I have been doing a bit of digital art but I have lost my creative mojo a tad right now. Only to be expected I guess.

Roll on 2014 and hopefully I will be able to turn my life around and move forward.

Where there's tea there's hope.

Sunrise at Turnover Hall

Sunrises here at Turnover Hall Caravan Park are quite lovely. If I get up nice and early I can enjoy the quiet of the start of the day. Here are a few random sunrise pictures taken over a period of a few days.

Some of the sunrises are golden and some pinky/purple but always stunning, unless of course it’s cloudy to the point of seeing no sun at all.

Life on a Caravan Park

Back in February my life took a very sudden and rather unexpected turn. My husband was basically given the sack, although he hadn’t done anything wrong. The farmer he was working for decided he couldn’t afford to keep him so just told him to leave. He was actually in breach of his contract, as he, the farmer, was supposed to give two months notice. This didn’t happen and we ended up moving out with nowhere to go to.

We were lucky that Ian's parents have spare room in their house so we were able to go there short term. Ian managed to get a job (which he is trialling for three months to see if the farmer and Ian get on before we commit) not far from where we used to live. But, there was no house with the job so whilst the farmer is buying a house close to the farm we have had to move into our touring caravan until the house is available. It is quite difficult living in one room all the time and I’m just grateful we have a large awning to store some stuff in.

All our furniture and belongings are in storage up in Morecambe, some bits are at Ian's parents’ house and some with us in the caravan.

We have been here two and a bit months now. We moved in on the second March 2013. It hasn’t been without its ups and downs, the weather early on was very cold and I’m very grateful the the caravan has central heating so I’ve never been cold. The site does have a laundry room so I’ve been able to wash our clothes. there is a lovely shower block too.

The site is actually part of a farm and has two resident barn owls which are active all day. It’s a real pleasure to watch them. There are also hares, lapwings and even a cute little hedgehog. There are plenty of birds, greenfinches, bluetits, a longtailed tit, chaffinches, ducks, pigeons, blackbirds and crows. Plus a few I can’t identify. I have been very conscious of the seasons change here. Maybe because I am really stuck in a field.

I don’t have internet access here so I’m very limited updating my blog amongst other things but I will post when I can.

Our belongings all packed up ready to move from Cuil Dairy and go into storage. I seem to spend my life packing and unpacking boxes.

The move from Scotland to Lancashire (and I'll count the move from Scotland to Cumbria/Lancashire as one move), but the move from the caravan to the house and getting all our stuff from storage into the house as a separate move, will bring the total number of times I have moved in the last eight and a half years up to 12. I have told Ian that should he want to move again unless it is into our own home at Preesall, he is on his own. I will not move with him, it’s getting all too much.

One more sleep

Caravan has now gone and now just Ian and John to come back with the van in the morning to fetch the rest of our belongings. Apparently we’ll have a very nice view from the caravan across the Moss.

I did a page with some images of Cairnholy which we went to visit last year, It was misty and wet but somehow it seemed right. Hope you like it?

Next update from England. Bye for now. x

Two More Sleeps

Well, there are two more sleeps until we finally move out of this house. Our stay in Scotland has been very bittersweet indeed. I have made some lovely friends, met some nice people, seen some lovely places and also met a couple of complete twonks. Unfortunately it was the twonks who had the ability to actually ruin our lives.

So, what are we doing and where are we going? Well, short term all our belongings apart from essentials like my sewing machine and quilting supplies etc., are going into storage. We will stay for a few days at Ian’s parents’ house and then, as Ian has three months work we’ll stay in our caravan. Actually, he has a permanent job if he wants it but he’s elected to do a three month trial to make sure the farmer he’s going to work for isn’t a twonk as well. At least if he gives it a trial run and he doesn’t get on with or like the farmer I don’t have to pack again as it’s already done. But hopefully, it will be OK as it’s in an area where we own a house (tenants in situ) and are closer to family and friends.

We are moving back to the Fylde Coast, not far from Blackpool and whilst Blackpool isn’t my fave place I do love the surrounding area. Mind you Blackpool has some characters and if you’re into people watching it’s a great place to go and watch. Smile

I shall use the time to think about what I want to do with my life. It needs decluttering and streamlining. I’d like to progress on my spiritual journey a bit more. I need to finish a lot of UFOs and just generally cut back on the crafts I do. I just don’t have the space for all of them. I have waaaaaaaay too much fabric and other crafty bits. I’d like to do more digital scrapbooking. That is very satisfying and doesn’t require loads of physical supplies and space. Just a good digital backup device. I also find it helps to put certain feelings down.

I have some random photos that I've taken of Scotland so I’ll upload those later.

I may get time to update this blog before we move but if not I’ll catch you all when we are across ‘The Border’.

Another week.

Well, not much has happened this last week on the job front for Ian but I’ve nearly done all the packing ready to move. Well, as much as is practical anyway. Lots of positive vibes going out so hopefully positive stuff will come back.

A Red Tailed Kite flew over our house yesterday which was awesome. I’m actually not good at identifying birds of prey but the Red Kite has a very distinct shaped tail so easy to identify in flight.

I went to see Zena today, the chicken that got attacked by the farm dogs. She now has a nice new growth of feathers on her back and new tail feathers. Still a wee bit scruffy looking but she’s so relaxed and even has a rather grand looking fella chasing her.

Zena and friend

Some of her feathers are a lovely shade of pink and that’s from the antiseptic spray used on her back. She is very content. The lady who is looking after her rescues ex battery hens and she rescued 80 last Monday. They are in a very sorry state but seem to be enjoying their freedom. They will all be rehomed eventually.

I have been quite naughty and digi scrapped some photos I took of Rhiannon last year when I was looking after them when Robert and Anne moved house.

Rhi and cameraweb

I spent the day at Mavis' house in the garden with the grandkids. Now, I like to take photos of flowers and scenery so Rhi went and fetched her little camera and started copying me. She even made the little clicking sounds as if she was really taking a photo. I wanted to scrap those photos as a group. Sassy little mare isn't she? Moments like this are priceless.

I’ll have to try and scrap some of Zacyman but he doesn’t stay still long enough for a good photo.

We did have snow here, only about an inch but I believe that was quite rare for this part of Scotland so I was pleased. I even built a little snowman.

Must go and pack a few more boxes. Catch you later. xx

Galloway Forest Park

Today Ian and myself decided to go for a drive out. I think we both needed to be away from the farm today so we headed for the snow covered hills just north of the Galloway Forest Park.

Now there wasn’t actually that much snow about, everywhere looked like it had had a sprinkling of icing sugar to be honest but it was still pretty.

The Galloway Forest Park is quite unique here in the UK as it’s home to one of the world’s few Dark Skies Parks. Read all about it here Galloway Forest Park.

On our way up there we were lucky enough to see two Red Kites circling above us. That was lovely to see. We had no real destination so just drove where we fancied but we did come across a Red Deer range so we walked up to the hide to see if we could see any. I was lucky enough to see a deer but wasn’t sure if it was a Red deer, Roe or Fallow deer. He/she was quite away away but I did get a blurry image.

Here are a couple of pictures of our trip out.
